Weapon of choice?  Hammer wrapped in velvet.
Can the rumors be true?  Is the Panamera the
precursor to the return of a new 928? Since its
debut in 1978 it has always been in a class of one.
Porsche's first (and until the Panamera) only front
engine, rear wheel drive, V8 powered sports car.
Launched in 78 as a German answer to the Corvette
& produced through the 95 model year the 928's
silhouette remained virtually unchanged, until now.

But we digress, we are here to talk about watches and the evolution of one in particular.  The owner of sweet silver bullet below felt his ride of choice deserved a timepiece dedicated to it and since Porsche had never done it and wasn't about to grace a model no longer in production (regardless of how iconic) with a model specific commemorative, he would.  Even after I warned him time and again that building watches is "Risky Business" he plunged ahead.

It just so happens that we knew exactly who we wanted to build it.
It had to be produced in Germany and to standards fitting the car.
It also had to be affordable, let's face it, not a lot of guys tooling
around in 20 year old 928s want to drop 12k on a watch.
Enter Laco, building watches in Germany since 1925 and a hand-
ful of guys dead set on getting it done. Thus was born a 100 piece
run (each numbered & delivered with certificate) of 928 L.E watches.
The only known commemorative to the mighty German Landshark

         Would you expect less than
     full super-lumi treatment?

     With the sucess of the
     Panamera and virtually
     all of the mechanical
     components already
     there, a new two door
     super car from Porsche
is a given. Will it wear
     the 928 badge? That has
     not been announced yet
     but most Porschephiles
will tell you it must be so.

<<< Speculation abounds as
to what it will ultimately look
like (making 2012 seem early) everytime you turn around
another rendering pops up.
But I would bank on HOT.

Very few of these remain available, the day they sell out this page comes down.
